I live in Uxbridge, its a smaller town north of Pickering. I live on the out skirts in the woods, and I am very happy that I do. Personally, I would not pick to ever live closer to town. I’m not a fan of the city or crowds of people really. Going into the city for work is more than enough for me. I have never understood why people get drawn into high density living.
Property in cheaper, its quiet, you have personal space, and it is just way more peaceful.
You also have way more room to do what you want. During covid, nothing really changed where I lived. we went about our days like normal and never had any issue.
Another great thing about being out in the country is that air is cleaner. When its summer and super-hot in the city, the air feels thick with pollution form cars, buildings and just the number of people around. We have never had an air quality warning, even with the forest fires last year in 2023 being so bad.
On top of all this, did I mention THERE IS LESS POEPLE AROUND YOU??
You are able to do what you want without people complaining or people coming and bugging you. This is my favorite part about living in the middle of nowhere. I can do what I want to do, and no one is around to tell me they don’t like that. Beside my parents who are not very happy about the collection of cars, trailers and other junk spread around the property, no one else is around. This is why I will never understand why people like to live in the city. There is so much more fun to be in the country.
Let me know your thoughts, I personally will always live where there is more space and land then people.
