Blog

This is going to be a blog about what every I feel like.

The high cost of living in Canada is out of control. I live alone and it is just me. I live rent free, but I have to manage and take care of the property that I am on. My grocery bill is over 120$ a week, and my fuel bill is normally around 200$ a week as well. On April 1st of 2024 they will also be increasing the taxes on everything. The disconnect from parliament to the people living under it is extreme. I am currently in school, so I am only able to make around 800$ a week as it is. This is just enough for a single human with no rent expense to live comfortably. Granted, I could cancel my streaming services, not have unlimited internet and a fancy phone, but I personally feel that most people in Canada are not asking for a lot. But with the way the country is being governed, there are a lot of people in Canada that can’t afford to live. The current cost of living in Canda is

Summary of cost of living in Canada:

  • A family of four estimated monthly costs are 5,192.5C$ without rent.
  • A single person estimated monthly costs are 1,447.9C$ without rent.

Insurance for vehicle, phone bills, internet, hydro as well is all going up. I’m lucky enough to be on a well for water, so I don’t have a water bill.

But trying to do more than just live is getting harder and harder in this country. I believe it is because the disconnect between parliament and the people needs has been getting worse.

It is sad to see how many people are struggling to pay their bills in the country that i truly love to call my home.
